Vietnam thrash Afghanistan 2-0 in friendly encounter

KABUL (Pajhwok): In a friendly match, Vietnam have defeated Afghanistan at the Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM City.

Striker Pham Tuan Hai scored both goals to secure a 2-0 win for Vietnam against Afghanistan in on Wednesday’s friendly match.

The Afghanistan Football Federation wrote on its Facebook page that Vietnam scored two goals while the national side was unable to score any goal.

Vietnam are ranked 96th and Afghanistan 150th in FIFA rankings.

The Afghans will travel to Kolkata, India, to participate in Asia Cup qualifiers after the tournament.

The national team is in the same group as Hong Kong, India and Cambodia.
