KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) on Sunday hailed the approval of three major projects worth $793 million by the World Bank and the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF).
The Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF) Management Committee and the World Bank have approved three major projects for the war-torn country.
The $793 million projects would provide urgent and essential food, livelihood, and health services to the people of Afghanistan.
All three projects will be implemented off-budget out of the interim Taliban administration’s control, through UN agencies and NGOs.
The schemes are designed to help women and girls benefit from project activities. Entry criteria, including the principles of equitable access for women, must be met and funds will be released in two tranches to provide the opportunity for ARTF donors to review progress on the ground and assess whether announced policies of the interim administration continue to allow the participation of women.
In a statement, the central bank said: “Da Afghanistan Bank welcomed and thanked WB, ARTF for the implementation of the three major projects worth $793 million.”
