KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) will soon deliver monkeypox test kits to Afghanistan, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) says.
A private TV channel quoted an official as saying that Afghanistan’s health sector was currently without kits for monkeypox testing.
Javid Hajir, MoPH spokesman, told TOLOnews: “PCR machines were handed over to the MoPH during the outbreak of Covid-19 in Afghanistan.”
He said after the delivery of kits for monkeypox tests, the machines could be used for testing the viral disease.
Monkeypox tests conducted in Kabul, Herat, Nimroz, Nangarhar and Maidan Wardak provinces were negative have been negative.
