KABUL (Pajhwok): Ghulam Farooq Wardak, former minister of state for parliamentary affairs, returned to Kabul on Wednesday.
He landed on Wednesday morning at the Kabul airport, Wardak confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News. However, he would not work for the government anymore.
Wardak promised he would spend his time serving the people and the country. “Conflict offers no solution. My call to those fanning conflict is that villages are not built in war. War can lead to two things only -- killing the people and destroying the country.”
He commented: “I want to serve my people. Allah has blessed me with some management experience, so I want to devote my time to serving the nation -- out of government structure.”
Wardak called on authorities to open their arms and embrace all Afghans, because Afghanistan “is everyone’s home and they all reserve the right to live here”.
“As the security situation has improved nationwide, leaders must pay close attention to quality, quantity and management and grant God-given rights to our sisters,” he remarked.
Aminullah Waqar, an official at the General Directorate of Intelligence who received Wardak at the airport, said: “He is the first former minister who has returned to the country.”
He said there was no honour for the Afghans living abroad. The Islamic Emirate had extended the hand of reconciliation to them, the official added.
He said those who had complaints must return to the country and share their concerns and grievances with the government.
