GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A carpenter’s shop was gutted in a predawn fire breakout in the Shamir area of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Friday.
Maulvi Habibullah Mujahid, head of Ghazni’s information and culture department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the fire broke out at around 3am last night and lasted for an hour.
It was unknown how the fire broke out, he said.
The owner of the burnt shop, Amrullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News that he suffered about one million afghanis loss.
Nematullah, an eyewitness and a shopkeeper in the area, said there was a commotion when the carpenter’s shop caught fire.
He said he was worried because his shop was also there.
He added that the carpenter’s shop was completely gutted in the fire. The fire brigade arrived on time and extinguished the fire and saved other shops, he added.
