TALOQAN CITY (Pajhwok): Improved security in northern Takhar province has helped attract tourists to visit the entertainment sites and beautiful areas, an official said.
Around 800 tourists visit the province daily, Abdul Razaq Nafez, deputy head of the tourism section in the Information and Cultural Department said.
He said around 800 tourists daily visited historic and sightseeing areas in the province, adding that security personnel had taken steps for the protection of tourists.
Takhar has attractive sites for tourists such as the Shahr-a-Kuhna also known as the Khawaja Khizer Shrine in Taloqan City.
Hundreds of tourists visit the site daily and every tourist has his own story from their visit.
Matiullah, one of the tourists, who arrived in Takhar from Balkh province, said that he and his friends arrived in Takhar to visit historic and entertainment sites in the province.
