TALOQAN (Pajhwok): At least two civilians have been killed during a clash in the capital of northern Takhar province, eyewitnesses said on Sunday.
Najibullah, an eyewitness, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The clash erupted at around 2:00 am in the Paroza-a-Sharqi area of Taloqan City and continued for a few hours.”
He said two drivers and a make-up artist were killed in the initial hours of the firefight.
Mir Ahmad, another eyewitness, said: “I saw a driver and a make-up artist killed in the firefight.”
He said three wood-selling stalls were burned in the firefight and the Takhar-Badakhshan Road was closed for hours.
Takhar Police Chief Mawlavi Habibullah Shakir said also confirmed two civilians were killed in the firefight on Daesh hide out in the area.
