KABUL (Pajhwok): The Economic Commission on Monday approved a six-month pilot project to create a standard land transport system that would generate 30 billion afghanis in annual revenue.
It was said in a statement issued by the office of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
The 23rd meeting of the Economic Commission discussed proposals and recommendations from the Transport Regulatory Commission to solve transportation related problems.
The commission on a six-month trial basis approved a ten-article plan to establish a standard land transport system in Afghanistan and address transportation problems.
According to the statement, Article 10 of the draft (regulating the rotation process of trucks at border ports) is exempt from approval.
With implementation of the plan, about 30 billion afghanis will be collected annually in revenue, the statement said without elaborating further.
