MoF issues licenses to 21 tax accountants

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has issued licenses to 21 tax accountants who would visit institutions and companies to share their advise regarding tax payment and to prevent tax evasion.

Meraj Ahmad Meraj, head of the MoF Revenue Department, told reporters here these accountants should prevent all ways of tax evasion, work for the capacity building of taxpayers, create awareness and play the role of a bridge between the Revenue Department and the taxpayer institutions.

He said the MoF and the Revenue Department were trying to ensure that transparency was implemented as the main principle of its daily operations and to carry out all affairs professionally.

Tax accountants are professional and experienced people who are licensed by the Revenue Department after passing the professional exam.

Once successful and licensed, these accountants assist authorities, companies, institutions, and taxpayers in tracking and executing tax calculations and tax-related issues against a specific amount of salary.
