KABUL (Pajhwok): UN Humanitarian Coordinator and Assistant Special Representative Ramiz Alakbarov has said UN was assessing the needs and responding in the aftermath of the overnight earthquake.
On his Twitter handle Alakbarov wrote: “@OCHAAfg and @unafghanistan are assessing the needs and responding in the aftermath of the earthquake last night which has taken hundreds of lives. Our condolences to the families of deceased, response is on it’s way.”
According to reports hundreds of people have been killed and injured, tens of homes destroyed in southeast Afghanistan due overnight to 6.1 magnitude earthquake.
