TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Over four tonnes of expired food collected from markets in Taloqan, the capital of northern Takhar province, have been torched, an official said on Sunday.
Serious Crime Director Maulvi Asadullah Khalid said the expired food items worth 800,000 afs were burnt in the presence of officials from health, information and environmental protection departments.
He said the process to collect expired food was underway and individuals selling such items would be dealt with under the law.
