PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A One-Day International (ODI) series between Afghanistan and Pakistan is unlikely to take place this year, reports a private TV channel.
With Pakistan having a hectic schedule, there was no chance of the three-match series with Afghanistan happening soon, Geo TV said.
Previously, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) was to host Pakistan for the ODI series, which now appears unlikely to go ahead as planned.
The channel quoted well-placed sources as saying: “It will not be possible until April next year due to the busy schedule of the Green Shirts.”
With the ODI matches against Afghanistan up in the air, Pakistan will play a T20 home series against England from September 15 to October 2.
Later on, the hosts will tour New Zealand for a three-nation T20 series, which will also involve Bangladesh, as part of preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup, to be hosted by Australia.
