2 planes carrying Chinese aid land in Kabul: Mujahid

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chinese assistance for earthquake victims loaded in two planes has reached Kabul, an official said on Tuesday.

The aid worth $8 million included Blankets, clothes and other items.

Government Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on his Twitter handle wrote: “As many as $8 million worth of Chinese blankets, cloths and other essential items arrived in Kabul this morning on two planes for earthquake victims.

According to reports, the United Nations has so far spent 10 $ million, China and one of its companies collectively offered $8 million, Taiwan one million euros, European Union one million euros and the United Kingdom has contributed $3 million in aid for earthquake victims.

Iran, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and some other countries and organizations have also announced aid to the quake victims.

Rashid Khan a prominent member of the Afghan national cricket team, has so far raised £100,000 to help the quake victims, as well as donations from donors and the general public at home.
