KABUL (Pajhwok): An upcoming grand meeting of religious scholars will discuss improvement in the Islamic system, national unity, economic and social issues.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Salaam Hanafi told National Radio and Television that the meeting was expected to commence tomorrow (Thursday).
“When they come tomorrow to sit across the table, the scholars may talk about the Islamic system, national unity and economic and social issues. They may also confer on how to bring improvement to the Islamic system,” he opined.
Hanafi added he respected women, arguing the representation of their children in the grand meeting somehow reflected their representation as well.
“The fact that the people of Afghanistan and different ethnic communities and groups are going to sit together after several years is reflective of national unity and stability. I hope it would have a positive outcome.”
