Women Friday bazaar opens in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Women Friday market has been opened in Herat City, the capital of western Herat province, an official said on Friday.

Nargis Hashami, the western zone director of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced the opening of permanent Friday bazaar for business women in Herat province.

She told Pajhwok Afghan News women will now have a permanent market on Fridays to sell their products.

Business women will display their handcrafts exhibition in the 50-50 Ahmad Shah Abdali Street in Herat City under the name “Friday Bazaar”.

The market will be opened every Friday from 2:00pm to 12:00am and only women can get the products they need from this market she said.

“We plan to export women products abroad in the future, and they have not been restricted since the women reopened in this Chamber” she said.

Nargis said that five months after the reopening of the women Chamber of Commerce in Herat, more than 1,500 businesswomen have registered with the Chamber.

She said they worked with local government to create various bazaars and exhibition to promote women activities.
