KABUL (Pajhwok): The ‘Islamic Emirate’ Supreme Leader Shaikh Habatullah Akhundzada has stressed national unity, justice, security, pure Islamic system and said ethnic, tribal favoritism and friendship was not acceptable to him.

During his address to the Grand Ulema Meeting here in Kabul, Shaikh Habatullah said it was the right of ulema and the people to advise rulers and point out problems, adding that exposing rulers weak points in the media created gap between government and the masses.

He said government officials were compelled to advise and exchange views on different matters and refrain from harming one another because as a result of continued contradiction the ruling system collapse.

He added: “The jihad and government are two different things — Mujahideen fought with bravery, secured the victory but the implementation of Sharia is not the job of a fighter but it is the duty of ulema.”

“If you consider me you leader on the bases of Sharia then you have to obey my orders, I am not a symbolic political figure or an elected president. ulema will guide us and we will be executing.”

Shaikh Habatullah stressed there was need for peace and security within the government. It was necessary that corruption, self-rule, ethnicity, friendship shall ends, if these illicit practices are not removed then Muslims will not benefit and the government will be of few individuals
