JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Security force foiled the smuggling of about nearly $50,000 to Pakistan via Torkham crossing in eastern Nangarhar province.
Mufti Sayed Ghazi Hashimi, commissar of Torkham, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the security personnel of the commissary and Interpol police jointly thwarted the smuggling of 49,900 US dollars to Pakistan via Torkham.
According to Hashimi, the money was skillfully hidden in vegetables but recovered by the Interpol and commissary police.
He said one person was arrested in connection with the smuggling and he would be introduced to judicial organs.
