KABUL (Pajhwok): The Abresham crossing on the border with Iran has been reopened for a day only to help facilitate visa holders to cross into Iran, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The crossing was closed after the killing of Afghan children and tension between Iran and Afghanistan from the past 15 days.
In a statement the Information Department of Nimroz said: “The crossing is opened for one day till 9:00 pm and individuals with Iranian visa could travel to Iran.”
Trucks with loaded goods on both sides were also allowed to move while trucks from longer destinations are told not to move.
Sulaiman Naroyi, and afghan merchant confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that this border will remain open temporarily.
Naroyi added that this step has been taken for the facility of all sides and in the future more consultation well be held after Eid Al Adha holidays for final solution and removal the of the tension between both Afghan and Iranian sides.
