KABUL (Pajhwok): Former President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday called on scholars of the Islamic world to argue with the Taliban.
In a voice message posted on his official Facebook page, Ghani offered condolences to the families of those killed and injured in recent earthquake, floods, bomb blasts and attacks.
He wished the Afghans a happy Eidul Adha in Pashtu, Dari and Uzbek. He also mentioned the harassment of Afghans in Torkham and Spin Boldak.
The former president called on all scholars in the Islamic world to argue with the Taliban. “The Islamic world is moving in a positive direction and it is imperative that this positive path be shared with the Taliban and that they adhere to the basic principles and rules.”
He added: “Human beings should believe from the bottom of their hearts without any distinction between men and women, black and white, Arab and non-Arab. In jurisprudential schools, the basis are wisdom and free reasoning.”
Ghani said the success of Islamic philosophy and Islamic sciences was based on knowledge and great civilization. “Knowledge is mandatory and emphasized many times in Islam and Sharia.”
According to him, all international experiences have shown that a girl’s education changes five generations, in a family where a woman has knowledge, is the best Muslim family. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Seek knowledge even if it is in China.
Ashraf Ghani insists on education at a time when Afghanistan’s caretaker government has closed the doors to girls from sixth to twelfth grade.
He said coercion must stop as coercion could not bring stability to Afghanistan in 44 years.” That is why the only way to reach a conclusion is to use logic and reason. ”
According to Ghani, the best example of justice and law for the whole world is the constitution of the Prophet (PBUH) which he implemented in Medina.
“Today, it is horrible that the people are starving, but Afghanistan’s basic wealth is being exported in exchange for money that loses its commercial value every day,” he said.
He said the Afghan faced many problems, but the problems should be defined first and the goal should be the welfare of the general public not a group of specific individuals. “Only with the will of the Afghan people, a system can survive, without it, it will be threatened.”
He added that national unity must be achieved in practice, free choice was necessary, all dimensions of real independence must be taken into account.
