PUL-I-ALAM/GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): At least six people have been shot dead in two separate incidents in central Logar and southern Ghazni provinces, officials said on Thursday.
Rafiullah Samim, director of information and culture for Logar, said without going into details four members of a family were killed by known gunmen in Pul-i-Alam on Wednesday night.
Samim said security forces had launched an investigation into the incident.
On the other hand, eyewitness said the victims were from the same family and they were gunned down by two individuals.
Mohammad Javed, an eyewitness, told Pajhwok: “Last night at around 8:30pm, two masked gunmen entered a bakery in Pul-i-Alam and gunned down four members of a family.”
He said the dead included three brothers and a cousin.
Sidiqullah, another resident of Pul-i-Alam, said the victims hailed from the Khoshi district of the province.
In Ghazni, unidentified gunmen killed two young people in limits of the 6th police district of Ghazni City.
Maulvi Habibullah Mujahid, director of information, told Pajhwok the victims’ bodies had been sent for forensic tests.
He said the motive behind the murders was yet to be ascertained. Police have launched a manhunt for the killers.
