Bamyan farmers worried about growing agriculture diseases

BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Farmers in central Bamyan province have warned against agricultural diseases this year and asked for government support for its prevention.

Abdul Sammad, one of the farmers, said Agriculture Department should take steps to prevent agricultural diseases in advance.

He said there are so many agricultural worms that farmers cannot fight it individually, and the medicines they buy from the market are also of poor quality.

He said if timely attention is not paid Bamyan agriculture would perish.

Agriculture Expert Zinullah Meherzad two types of disease threatened the agriculture sector in Bamyan and both diseases spread fast.

He also warned against urgent steps to be taken otherwise the disease would spread fast.

Ewaz Ahmadi, an agriculture expert also acknowledged growing agriculture diseases and said: “Agriculture Department had distributed 300 litre of medicines and distributed them to farmers in the provincial capital and districts.”
