KABUL (Pajhwok): The interior minister believes the formation of a broad-based and inclusive government, a persistent global demand, will take time.
An inclusive government would come into effect whenever the Western influence was eradicated from Afghanistan, Sirajuddin Haqqani said.
During his trip to southeastern Khost, the acting minister of interior, Haqqani renewed his call for the Biden administration to unfreeze Afghanistan’s foreign reserves worth $7 billion.
Addressing a gathering in Khost, the minister asked what the US and its allies had achieved in Afghanistan over the past two decades.
He asked Taliban detractors to stop clamouring for an inclusive government. “Once paganism is eliminated, the inclusivity will happen automatically.”
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) would not let anyone use Afghan soil against any country, he promised. “We don’t oppose Pakistan, Iran, China or anyone else.”
