KABUL (Pajhwok): Malaysia says it continue engaging the caretaker government in Kabul and maintain cooperation with the Afghans.

Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met Malaysia’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Dato Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman and Deputy Secretary of South and Central Asia Mohammad Azhar Mazlan.

Both sides discussed trade ties, economic cooperation, banking, education and other issues of mutual interest, said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, Muttaqi said there was a good opportunity for investment in Afghanistan.

Muttaqi urged the delegation to cooperate with Afghanistan in areas of education, capacity-building and Islamic banking.

The visiting delegation promised Malaysia would continue to stay in touch with the Afghan government and would make efforts to meet its demands.
