KABUL (Pajhwok): The eighth edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL), featuring eight franchises, is all poised to kicks off on today (Monday).
The opener of the League was being played today between Band-i-Amir Shahmaran and Kabul Bazan, organisers said.
An official of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) earlier told reporters that five foreign players, three from Pakistan and two from Oman, would take part in the eighth edition of SCL.
The three Pakistani cricketers are Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mir Hamza while Bilal and another player (whose name is not yet known) are from Oman.
The foreign players are part of Mes Ainak, Spinghar and Amo teams. All matche swill be aired live on National Sports Television.
A foreign company has been awarded the broadcast contract to ensure quality coverage of the 10-day event.
