KABUL (Pajhwok): Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has been appointed as the prime minister of Kuwait and assigned with forming a new cabinet.
The prime ministerial appointment came on Sunday in compliance with a decree issued by the emir of Kuwaiti, says a media report.
China’s Xinhua news agency reported the premier-designate would inform the National Assembly of his nomination before assuming office.
The emir had approved the resignation of ex-prime minister Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his cabinet.
Born in 1956, Ahmad is the eldest son of Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He served as the Kuwait National Guard Deputy Commander from November 2020 to March 9, 2022.
