TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Some residents of Khwaja Ghar district in northern Takhar province have complained against the lack of basic health facilities despite continued heavy fighting in the past.
They claimed, “Due to the economic problems, seasonal diseases have reached their peak and when we go to medical centers we return without getting any medicines”.
Mohammad Nader, who walked a long way to the medical center, criticized the lack of medical facilities.
He added I am poor, the seasonal diseases have reached their peak, the government must consider the problems faced by people.
Amanullah is another resident who said, we just get the prescription of the doctor, we must buy medicine from a private drugstore, which is not possible in such economic hardships.
Doctress Zubida told Pajhwok: “Khawaja Ghar a remote district, the officials of public health ministry did not offer us many facilities, the medicines and other supplies accommodated the demand of patients”.
But Dr. Abdul Qahar said the high number of patients is the reason behind the shortage of medical facilities shortages.
