670 Laghman vulnerable families distributed food aid

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Nearly 700 less fortunate families in the Alingar district of eastern Laghman province have been distributed food assistance, according to a local official on Thursday.

District Chief Qari Zahidullah Fatih told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The food assistance is provided by the World Food Program (WFP).

Each aid package included 50 kilograms of wheat, six kilogram of pulses, five liters of cooking oil and some quantity of salt and a sack flour.

The beneficiaries were thrilled after receiving food assistance and urged the continuation of such assistance.

Lal Gul a resident of Taki Qala area told Pajhwok: “We face economic problems, we are jobless, the only hope we have is the assistance of government”. He asked this process to continue.
