Six-year-old girl found dead in Paktia

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The body of a six-year-old girl who was kidnapped 20 days back has been recovered in the Rohani Baba district of southeastern Paktia province, residents and official said on Thursday.

According to the relatives, the slain girl went missing 20 days ago from Mamozai village of Rohani Baba district and her body has recovered from ruins.

The victim’s father Mohammad Janat told Pajhwok Afghan News: “My daughter went missing twenty days ago from the house, we searched a lot but yesterday we found out that she was brutally stoned to death”.

Mohammad Janat asked the government for justice and confirmed the arrest of some people in connection to his daughter's murder.

Paktia Police Spokesperson Mohammad Albadri said: “Three people have been arrested in connection to the murder of the girl and referred to judicial institutions”.

Albadri did not offer more details about the perpetrators and the motive behind the incident was still unclear.
