KABUL (Pajhwok):  At least four people have been wounded in an explosion at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium, police say.

The four spectators were injured on Friday when the grenade blast occurred at the stadium during a match between Pamir Zalmi and Band-e-Amir Dragons in the domestic T20 league.

The explosion was triggered by a grenade, according to Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran, who said the incident caused a short delay.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Naseeb Khan, meanwhile, confirmed four spectators suffered injuries.

In a tweet, the ACB official explained foreign and local cricketers and staff members and foreigners escaped unhurt.

The blast came during the 22nd match of the Shpageeza Cricket League between Pamir Zalmi and the Band-e-Amir Dragons.

Band-e-Amir Dragons raced to the target of 94 in 10 overs for the loss of only one wicket, with almost three overs to spare.
