KABUL (Pajhwok): A leading public-sector university in India plans an online exam for Afghan students, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Unable to secure visas for India, Afghan students of last semesters at the Punjab University in Chandigarh could not appear in their examinations.

Hindustan Times reported a panel of the university had recommended that an online proctored exam be arranged for the Afghan students. However, a formal announcement is yet to be made.

A senior university official was quoted as saying: “Keeping in view their visa problem, we considered the requests of the Afghan students. They all expressed helplessness…”

About 100 Afghan students are enrolled in different departments of the university and the affiliated colleges –half of them are in their final semester.
