ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Fifteen Afghan prisoners released by the United Arab Emirate (UAE) have landed in capital Kabul, an official said on Saturday.
Mawlawi Abdullah Azam, personal secretary of the Assistant Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, in a video clip said these15 were part of total 136 Afghan prisoners released in the UAE and reached Kabul on Saturday.
He said a family was also included in the released inmates.
The release of Afghan inmates was discussed between Mullah Beradar and UAE officials during his recent trip to the Gulf nation where he had discussion on this matter with key officials.
Javid, one of the released Afghan prisoners, expressed joy over his released.
He urged the government to strive to release the other Afghan imprisoned in UAE.
A number of Afghan living in UAE have been jailed in connection to different crimes. Since January this year about 35 Afghans freed and returned to the country.
