Nukes must be wiped off the earth, says UN chief

KABUL (Pajhwok): UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has stressed the need for wiping nuclear weapons off the face of the earth following the reemergence of Hiroshima victims in Japan.

Guterres tweeted: “In Hiroshima today, I paid tribute to the tens of thousands of people killed by atomic bombs 77 years ago.”

He said the lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki could not be forgotten. “We must act in their memory and wipe nuclear weapons off the face of the earth once and for all.”
