The disease similar to cholera has spread in the Spera district.

He said eight people including five children had so far died from the water-borne disease.

According to him, the disease besides the Spera district is also spreading in Giyan and Barmal districts of neighboring Pakitka province.

Dr. Fazal Karim Momandzai, director of public health department, told Pajhwok the cholera-like disease was on the rise in the Spera district but four mobile teams were available in the area to control it.

He added: “The disease has spread a lot in Spera district, its major factor is rains and floods as people consume contaminated water.”
