PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s imports from Afghanistan posted a negative growth of 17.84 percent in 2022, the central bank says.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said imports from the neighbouring country fell to $147.249 million in 2022 from $179.223 million in the previous year.
Statistics from SBP suggested the cut was mainly driven by higher arrivals of kitchen items, including tomatoes, potatoes and onions as well as fresh and dried fruits.
Earlier in the ongoing year, Islamabad allowed maximum imports from Afghanistan in the rupee via land routes.
