PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Ghori Cement Factory in central Baghlan province has resumed cement production after four months of delay, a factory official said on Friday.
The Factory Finance and Admin Head Abdul Wakeel Qayyoumi told Pajhwok Afghan News the factory was stopped for four months as a result of soaring coal prices.
“The coal rate fixed for the factory after regime change was not in its interest,” he said.
He said meetings were held with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum often to resolve the problem.
Now government agreed to provide coal to the factory in a suitable price after which the factory has again started production.
He said the factory produced 500 tonnes of cement in 24 hours and efforts were on to increase the production to 600 tonnes.
Rohullah, a worker in the factory, said he was happy that have been working his own country and earning in a legal and transparent manner for his family.
“I am happy to work in my country, officials should arrange raw material and encourage us then we will work harder.”
