MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Thousands of needy families on Tuesday received food assistance in the Behsud district of central Maidan Wardak province.
The provincial Department of Rural Development and Reconstruction said in a statement that the aid was provided to 4,500 needy families by the World Food Program (WFP).
It said each family received 50 kilograms of flour, 5 liters of ghee, 6.5 kilograms of pulses and half a kilogram of salt.
Ali Muhammad, a resident of Behsud district and a recipient of the aid, expressed his happiness at receiving the aid and told Pajhwok that the government should pay more attention to the poor people and help them.
