KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Defence Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoub Mujahid has said no demands contrary to the national interest would be acceptable and ruled out political and economic progress at the expanse of the country’s independence and freedom.
He said people who wanted the freedom and independence of the country and did not enter any deal contrary to the national interest should be trusted and nobody should be allowed the opportunity for conflict among the people of Afghanistan.
He said this year the independence days was celebrated at time when the country was free in real means and was not dependable militarily on any side.
Mullah Yaqoub said they will remain committed to the freedom and independence of the country forever and will never hesitate for the sake of some materialistic problems.
He said earning independence and freedom was a complicated and problematic task and it has political and economic consequences adding that current economic and political problems were created by some nations that wanted their will to be implemented in Afghanistan.
“We cannot accept others demands and orders that are in violation to our national interest, We want military, political and economic progress but not at the expanse of our national interest because the people of Afghanistan had rendered immense sacrifices for freedom,” said the acting defence minister.
“Many circles are active to promote differences among Afghans based on region, language and sects so that these circles could achieve their nefarious designs. We should be fully aware and not allow these forces the opportunity to do so,” he said.
The people of Afghanistan he urged should know that people who rendered sacrifices, refused occupation and did not enter deals against the national interest with anybody were the real sons of the nation and they could build the country.
