KABUL (Pajhwok): The Finance Ministry has approved the Tariff Committee’s decision to increase customs duty for one ton of unprocessed talc from five to 25 percent.
The Finance Ministry’s customs and revenue department in a statement said the ministry’s board of directors had approved the increase in export tariff on unprocessed talc from five percent to 25 percent.
The statement said as per the decision, 10 percent customs duty has been approved for a ton of processed (powdered) talc.
The Finance Ministry’s board of directors also approved an increase in export duty on semi-precious lead stone from 2.5 to 20 percent.
The increase will be implemented from September 7 at all customs offices of the country.
It is worth mentioning that the minerals of Afghanistan are famous in China, India, Britain, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia markets.
