KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of fuel, sugar, cooking oil and gold decreased but the rates of liquefied gas, rice and gold rose this week in Kabul, market sources said on Sunday.
Fuel prices down
A worker of the Ahmadyar Group Patrol Station said the price of one litre of petrol decreased from 89 afs to 85 afs while the same quantity of diesel fell from 104 afs to 97 afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kalola Pushta area, said the price of one kilogram of liquefied gas went up from 68 afs to 70afs.
Sugar, cooking oil rates also down
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders’ Union, said the wholesale price of a 49-kilogram bag of Indian sugar decreased from 3,300afs to 3,250afs.
But he said the price of a 24.5-kg bag of Pakistan rice increased from 3,000afs to 3,100afs.
He added the price of a 49-kg sack of Kazakhstani flour stood at 2,650afs, one kilograms of African black tea at 400afs, and the same quantity of Indonesia green tea at 350afs.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in the Dahna-i-Bagh neighbourhood of the capital, said the price of a 49-kg bag of Kazakhstani flour stood at 2,700 afs, a 24.5-kg bag of Pakistan rice 3,150 afs, a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar at 3,300 afs, 16 litres of Malaysian cooking oil at 2,250 afs, one kilogram of Indonesian green tea at 400 afs and the same amount of African black tea at 450 afs.
Russian gold price up
Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in the Lycee Maryam area of Kabul, said the price of one gram of Russian gold increased from 3,300afs to 3,400afs.
He added but the price of one gram of Arabian gold fell by 50afs -- from 4,300afs to 4,250afs.
Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange in Sara-i-Shahzada, said the buying rate of one US dollar was 88.40 afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 410 afs.
