Thousands sit examination for teacher posts

BAMYAN CITY/MAIDAN SHAHR/SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Thousands of candidates appeared in an entrance test for teacher posts in Bamyan, Maidan Wardak and Sar-i-Pul provinces.

Syed RahmatullahHanoon, deputy head of the Independent Civil Services and Administrative Reform Commission (IACSRC) for Bamyan province, said 2,175 candidates, including 717 women, sat the test for 124 vacant teacher posts in the province.

Najibullah, one of the candidates, said: “Survival and stability of a country is linked with education system of that country therefore there is need for greater attention when it comes to the selection of teachers.”

RahimullahZeerak, head of the examination authority, said: “We assure the candidates ransparency of the process. Every individual would be appointed to vacant seats on the basis of their qualification and ability.”

Sar-i-Pul Education Director Mawlavi Mohammad Rahmani said: “1,800 men and women sat the exam for 481 teachers and administrative positions in the province.”

Separately, 581 people appeared in the test for 132 teacher posts in Maidan Wardak province, the provincial media office said in a statement.
