KABUL (Pajhwok): The General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) has arrested an alleged Daesh militant in northern Balkh province.
On its Twitter handle, the GDI wrote: “The brave forces of Balkh GDI have arrested a member of Khawarej --- Daesh --- named Shakirullah during a raid.”
According to the source detained Shakirullah wanted to hamper the security of Balkh and carry out subversive activities.
The GDI released a video clip in which Shakirullah in which he said: “Few months earlier I was with it and currently detained by the GDI Balkh.” He hailed from the Chapa Dara district of Kunar province.
