PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghan businesswomen and members of the Afghan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry are participating in a focus group discussion in Islamabad.
The Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) has organised the 10th focus group discussion (FGD).
A statement from PAJCCI said the discussion in the federal capital involved stakeholders in Pak-Afghan trade.
Current issues and opportunities for bilateral and transit, as well as ways of dismantling barriers with Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics (CARs) will be discussed.
Headed by Khan Jan Alokozai; co-chairman of PAJCCI, an Afghan delegation arrived in Islamabad late on Monday.
PAJCCI Chairman Zubair Motiwala voiced his pleasure at the arrival of the Afghan delegation, especially in the current difficult times, along with businesswomen.
He called increased trade with Afghanistan a top priority for Pakistan. Including more products in the local currency trade list, abolition of the negative list and clearing regulatory barriers are among other priorities.
Participants will discuss the creation of cash counters at crossing points, legitimate alternatives to banking channels and boosting the capacity of Afghan government servants.
