KABUL (Pajhwok): The caretaker government says the world must adopt a reasonable policy towards Afghanistan and respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Marking the first anniversary of the US troop withdrawal from the country, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan declared Wednesday a national holiday.
In a statement, the interim government said tireless effort should be made to establish and strengthen a true Islamic system.
“The 20-year jihad by the faithful people of Afghanistan against the American invaders was an unbalanced and shocking battle in history. In this conflict, the faithful Afghans succeeded and materialistic forces failed and were forced to flee,” the statement added.
The Taliban government once again reminded the world that experiences of the past two decades could serve as a better guide in the future.
“We have seen over the past 20 years all kinds of polices of coercion and threats against the Afghan people have been unsuccessful and have only complicated the crisis and increased unrest,” it added.
Three days ago, Defence Minister Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid alleged US drones entered Afghanistan from Pakistan, asking Islamabad not to allow the use of its airspace against Kabul.
In response, the Pakistani government called such speculative allegations, leveled without any evidence, were deplorable and in conflict with diplomatic principles.
