Lady doctor’s body found in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The body of gynecologist Shukria Alkozai has been found in a house in the Khair Khana area of capital Kabul.

Dr. Shukria was serving as gynecologist in the 102-bed Hospital in Khair Khana.

The Afghanistan Medical Council in its Facebook page wrote today (Thursday): “It is really saddened to know that the female doctor Dr. Shukria Alkozai, who works at the 102-bed hospital in Khairkhana area of Kabul found dead.”

“Shukria Alkozai was taken from her house last Thursday under the pretext to visit a patient but her body was found on Wednesday,” the page added.

The leadership of the Afghanistan Medical Council called Alkozai’s death a great and unforgettable loss for the country.

Police spokesman Khalid Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News that police found the body of Dr. Shukriya Alkozai in a sack in a house in the Khairkhan area.

He said: “The body was handed over to forensic ward at that time and we are still trying to find the people involved in the incident and bring them to justice.”
