PARAKH (Pajhwok): At least six shops were gutted by a fire that swept through a marketplace in the Khenj district of Panjshir province, an official said on Monday.
Ahmad Zia Yazdani, director of natural disasters management, told Pajhwok Afghan News the fire erupted due to electric short circuit.
He added the blaze caused huge financial losses to owners of the shops as they were burnt completely. He said: "Firefighters rushed to the area in order to extinguish the fire.”
