TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Residents of Mawra-i-Kokcha district of northern Takhar province are complaining about the road condition, urging the government to pay attention and address the issue.
Shamsuddin Tinems, a resident of Dasht-i-Qala district, told Pajhwok that the road connecting to Mawra-i-Kokcha district had become dilapidated.
He said so far neither the current government nor the previous had tried to pave it.
Nooruddin, a resident of Yangi Qala district, said he had witnessed many times pregnant women died before reaching to the hospital due to the destruction of the road.
According to him, not only patients faced problems in this route, but farmers also witnessed difficulties in supplying their agricultural products to the market.
Mohammad Naeem, a civil activist in Takhar, said if the road was paved all the problems would be solved and the patients would reach hospitals without any concern and the farmers would also be able to sell their agricultural products to the market easily.
Abdul Hanan, a driver of the road for the past six years, told Pajhwok the road had become dilapidated and he most of the times spent the days under the warm sun in summer and snow and rain in the winter due to technical faults.
He said the government must pay serious heed to the issue.
Maulvi Amir Khan Huzaifa, director of public works, told Pajhwok that he would share the problem with the local administration in the earliest possible in order to address it.
