KABUL (Pajhwok): The recognition of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan depends on its internal politics, Russian says, calling for an inclusive government in the war-torn country.
In an interview, President Vladimir Putin’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said he had seen no evidence of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri’s killing.
Sputnik’s Dari service quoted the diplomat as calling the formation of an inclusive government the first step towards IEA’s recognition by the global fraternity.
While underlining the reopening of girls’ schools and employment opportunities for women, the envoy urged the Taliban administration to heed calls in this regard.
Kabulov told the Russian media outlet the United States was no longer part of the Extended Troika, which involves Russia, China and Pakistan. He said Iran would replace the US.
Blaming the US for using the platform to promote its own interests, the envoy claimed America’s role in the Extended Troika was not good for Afghanistan.
The troika members planned to hold talks with IEA in the near future, he suggested, saying the need for establishing an inclusive government would be a key agenda item.
