KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Marcus Potzel, the deputy head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) during a meeting discussed matters related to mutual interest.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), on his Twitter handle wrote: “Deputy and Acting UNAMA head, Marcus Potzel, & accompanying delegation called on Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.”
He said: “FM Muttaqi & Mr. Potzel spoke in detail about the UNAMA leadership's remarks on Afghanistan at the UNSC session next week, the arrival of the newly appointed UNSG-SR for Afghanistan, and other issues.”
According to Balkh Mr. Muttaqi assured UNAMA head of further cooperation with all diplomatic missions in Kabul, including the United Nations.
Potzel was assured of taking strong security measures to ensure the security of their compounds and employees; and providing more facilities for the movement of relevant employees.
FM Muttaqi said the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA)’ was taking on a policy of constructive interaction with the world where UNAMA can play a significant role there on.
