PARON (Pajhwok): A 10-kilometer road has been built by the World Food Programme (WFP) in the Want Waigal district of eastern Nuristan province.
Eng. Sher Shah, a WFP official, told Pajhwok Afghan News that that the road from the center of WantWaigal district to Aprashtal village took six months to complete.
Maulvi Ehsanullah Mowahid, director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, while inaugurating the road, said efforts were underway to build more such roads.
Police chief Mufti Mohammad Yousaf Jamalzai welcomed the construction of the road and urged aid giving organizations to extend the road to Kamdesh district.
Maulvi Lotfullah, a tribal elder, welcomed the road’s construction and said they used to face a host of problems due to lack of proper road.
He urged the road should be extended to 25 kilometers in order to connect WantWaigal district with Kamdesh district.
