KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) says some Kabul University students fell sick due to carelessness and no symptoms of poisoning have been found in their food.
MoHE’s clarification comes a day after some media outlets reported that a number of female students in the university hostel were poisoned.
Maulvi Ahmad Taqi, spokesman for the ministry, told Pajhwok Afghan News reports about the poisoning of the boarders were baseless.
Taqi said: “Currently, 1,500 students are residing in the hostel of the university and 50 of them got sick because of carelessness in food consumption”.
